Grown at the Pretto family’s organic farm in the Alto Lino mountain area surrounding Boquete, Hacienda La Esperanza is a new Bio Latina certified organic coffee. This 2008-2009 harvest is the first in many years on this land, once fallen into disrepair and now restored to its rich, natural beauty under the Prettos’ conscientious stewardship. As such, this exceptional coffee has not yet been officially cupped. We came across it in our search for a Panamanian Bourbon varietal, and are thoroughly delighted with its balance of Caturra, Geisha (Gesha), and Bourbon Arabica. La Esperanza combines the excellence of Caturra and Geisha beans with the richness and depth of Bourbon to produce a cup that is truly about taste.
