We are pleased to have the 2011 Lerida Estate coffee.  This is not just coffee, it is Lerida!

Lerida Estate placed 1st at the SCAA 2003 Top Coffee Competition out of 118 of the world's best coffee.  There is only one Lerida Estate.

1 lb. (16 oz.) Roasted Whole Bean

• Owned:  Collins Family until 2010.
  Varieties: 
  
• Location:  Alto Quiel, Boquete, Panama
• Altitude:  5500-6000 ft (1670-1825 m)
• Growing Conditions:  Foggy and misty during the first half ot he dry season which begins in late December.  Shade grown and surrounded by a private virgin-forest reserve and National Park.  The soil is rich young volcanic soil.  The unique growing conditions of low temperatures, fog and mist extend the coffee cherry ripening time one month longer than average.  This micro climate conditions show in a very dinstinguised cup.
• Conservation:  It is a bird and mammal sanctuary.  Native trees have been planted to provide shade and feed the birds.  Cuttings from coffee plant pruning are used is firewood by the Nobe Bugle or as ground cover. 
• Applications:  Hand applied chemical fertilizer, 2 or 3 times per year, NO insecticide, NO herbicide and fungicide 2 times per year.
• Processing:  traditional washed method and sun/screen drying on the farm. 

Finca Lerida is one of the most beautiful spots on earth.  John Collins opened this special place up to the outside by opening a wonderful eco-lodge.  You can get up early at certain times of the year, go down by the bohio with your mug of Lerida Estate coffee in hand and simply look up toward the jungle where the aguacate tree grows and see the majestic Quetzales.  It is magical!  Central Americas most majestic bird and the worlds best coffee at the same time.

Then you could go up to the restaurant for breakfast and experience the wonderful jam his wife Zoraida made from mountain papayas and local honey.  And, of course, drink more Lerida coffee!
