Santa Teresa is a newer estate consistently placing in the “Best of Panama” cupping competition, winning #6 in in 2007 and #11 in 2006. Grown at high elevation on the Western side of Volcan Baru, this world-class coffee combines crisp acidity with the flavor of fresh berries and currant, while a juicy mouthfeel finishes with notes of almond and sweet spice. Noted for farming innovation in support of a high priority to environmental and social sustainability, Finca Santa Teresa is poised for far-reaching acclaim!

- Growing Conditions: Situated on the outskirts of the El Parque Internacional La Amistad International Reserve, the farm enjoys a humid, mountainous microclimate and rich black volcanic soil. Surging drainage from rains off of the Atlantic and Pacific oceans are collected by the farm’s steep ridge and enhanced by a system of terraces and drainage canals.
- Conservation: Each parcel of land is planted with both live barriers and drainage channels to prevent erosion. Features a new ecological processing mill with an approved environmental impact study. 26.7 hectares of virgin forest are preserved for animals from the international reserve.
- Applications: All manual weed eradication; NO herbicides. Utilizes California worms to produce organic fertilizer from the coffee pulp.
- Processing: Ripe picks only collected by a gravity-fed cherry-delivery system, which reduces energy consumption and bruising of cherries by half. Mechanically washed by ecological equipment and pre-dried by the sun,. Mechanically finished with renewable energy using parchment as fuel for the drying ovens.
