SCAP is the Specialty Coffee Association of Panama.

In 1996, during the crisis of low international prices of coffee and the beginning of Special Coffees category and a high global demand, a group of 7 coffee producers from the areas of Boquete and Volcan –Candela got together to form the SCAP to promote Panama's excellent coffee.

There are now over 30 product members that export its varieties of Special Coffees around the world and that are winners of prizes and recognition in different international taste competitions.

The SCAP is a commitment to quality with annual "Best of Panama" cupping competitions.   The high altitude rich volcanic soil produces specialty coffee that has received international recognition, as well as receiving "Coffee of the Year" and top distinction in taste competitions around the world.

The SCAP and its members, have a commitment with the environment, to maintain the water sources and rivers, to live together with the migrating fauna in the area and to work in a manner that will allow the best maintenance for the ecosystem.
